Living with a chronic disease requires regular engagement in healthcare but all too often the focus is on treating the diagnosis and physical symptoms, with little attention paid to someone’s emotional and mental well-being. Fall 2020 we conducted a series of Mind-Body programs which sought to break down the concept of mindfulness, explain how and why capitalizing on the mind-body connection is beneficial to patients, and provide tools for self-care and techniques for physical and emotional self-management.
The second part of the series focuses on the unique experience of people living with liver disease and how to utilize mind-body techniques in everyday life.
