Today, Friday March 14^th, the Senate Finance Committee held a hearing to consider the nomination of Mehmet Oz to be Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
On Thursday, March 13^th, the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee confirmed Dr. Martin Makary to be Commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and Jayanta Bhattacharya to serve as Director of the National Institutes of Health.
The House passed a continuing resolution on March 11^th, which would extend government funding until September 30^th. The Senate will vote on the continuing resolution on Friday March 14^th.
The continuing resolution recently passed by the House and now waiting for a vote from the Senate includes coverage for telehealth services through September 30, 2025.
The House and Senate are in recess the week of March 17^th.
