Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD)

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is the buildup of extra fat in liver cells that is not caused by alcohol.  MASLD used to be called nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
