Abby Amankwaa

Controller

Abby Amankwaa began her tenure at the American Liver Foundation over twenty years ago, serving as a staff accountant. In this initial role, she was responsible for managing Division bank reconciliations and performing account analysis. Abby consistently excelled in her role and demonstrated a strong willingness to take on additional responsibilities.

In 2006, Abby's commitment and expertise led to the expansion of her responsibilities, including overseeing annual audit, and she was promoted to Assistant Controller. In 2010, she also assumed responsibility for payroll processing and reporting.

Abby's attention to detail has contributed to several notable achievements. She successfully reduced audit durations from several months to just a couple of weeks and has consistently delivered clean management reports, as certified by auditors over multiple years. These accomplishments can be attributed to her meticulous approach to ensuring financial transactions are accurately recorded and that all documentation is properly maintained for efficient retrieval during audits. Most recently, she completed two audits simultaneously with a stellar performance.

In 2021, Abby was promoted to Controller, and she continues to play a vital role in the success and long-term growth of American Liver Foundation. Abby holds an MA in Accounting and Financial Management from Keller Business School, New York.
