ALF promotes education, advocacy, support services and research for the prevention, treatment and cure of liver disease. ALF Greater New York provides a wide variety of these services including information and referral, education programs, support groups, exciting fundraising events, and an array of volunteer opportunities.

PFIC 1/2 Clinical Trial

Progressive Familial Intrahepatic Cholestasis (PFIC)

PFIC is a pediatric liver disease characterized by intense itching. Treatments to combat the itching are very limited and often ineffective.

  • Mount Sinai is currently enrolling patients with PFIC 1/2 in a clinical drug treatment trial for itching (clinicaltrials.gov).
