Liver Life Advocacy Summit™

American Liver Foundation’s Liver Life Advocacy Summit™  brings together patients, caregivers, and family members affected by liver disease from across the country to Capitol Hill to advocate for liver health. We focus on patient-centered policies and call on lawmakers to advance initiatives that improve prevention efforts, treatments, and access to care for all those living with liver disease.

During our 2026 Summit, ALF’s Liver Life Advocates urged Congress to take action on the following Legislative Priorities:

  • Increase funding for Metabolic-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD) research, education and screening
  • Expand liver disease surveillance and prevention efforts at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
  • Support the Living Donor Protection Act, Safe Step Act, Ian Kalvinskas Pediatric Liver Cancer Early Detection and Screening Act,  Expanding Support for Living Donors Act, and HELP Copays Act
  • Improve access to liver disease treatments and reduce out-of-pocket costs
