Phil Shin is a Solutions Architect at Southern California Edison, where he supports a portfolio of finance‑related software applications. He has held leadership roles at several global organizations, including Nestlé, Walt Disney Studios, and Warner Bros., where he led the delivery and management of complex financial planning and reporting systems. Phil’s ability to design and oversee sophisticated, strategic technology solutions supports ALF’s continued growth and its efforts to address gaps across the liver health landscape.
Phil became involved with ALF in 2018 following a diagnosis of liver cancer. In 2019, he received the gift of life through a living donor liver transplant from his friend, Mark. Since his recovery, Phil has remained cancer‑free and has channeled his passion for running into giving back to the liver community. He participated with Team ALF at the Boston Marathon in 2020 and 2021, and in 2022, Phil and Mark made history as the first living donor transplant pair to complete the Boston Marathon together.
In addition to serving on ALF’s National Board of Directors, Phil is a member of the Development Committee, bringing both professional expertise and lived patient experience to advancing ALF’s mission on behalf of patients and families nationwide.
