Bioprinted platform modeling mechanical and molecular signals of liver fibrosis
Mentor: Kelly Stevens, PhD
Chronic liver diseases such as fibrosis and cirrhosis affect millions of people worldwide and are major causes of liver failure and death. This project will develop a novel bioprinted liver model that mimics the mechanical and biochemical complexity of the fibrotic liver, enabling more accurate study of disease progression. By improving our understanding of how liver vasculature remodels in response to fibrosis, this work may accelerate the development of targeted therapies for chronic liver disease.
