This session offers a focused, research-driven overview of metabolic dysfunction–associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) in rural populations, tailored for providers in the primary care setting. It will examine current evidence on screening, diagnosis, and risk stratification, with attention to management within the clinic setting and criteria for escalation or referral to specialists in the context of limited hepatology access. Opportunities for thoughtful discussion and engagement will be included.
