Autoimmune Liver Diseases

I have been diagnosed with various autoimmune diseases. One of which they are now considering may have overlapped into a second autoimmune disease (AIH/PBC) both attacking my liver.

I was in an airport about to fly home when my wife called and told me the diagnosis. Meyer had an autoimmune liver disease. I had no understanding of liver disease.

I was diagnosed with Autoimmune Hepatitis and stayed in the hospital for two weeks. After a year and a half in treatment, I’m now in remission.

After 2 years of testing, it was determined that I had autoimmune hepatitis. The disease had gone and diagnosed and untreated for 30 + years.

My new doctor at UPMC scheduled me for a liver biopsy the week after my first appointment, and soon enough, I was officially diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis.

I have been on a personal quest to learn about autoimmune hepatitis (AIH), AIH treatment protocols, AIH research, and learning to live with AIH.

She called and told me that she thinks I have autoimmune hepatitis and I need to see a specialist.

I was diagnosed one year ago after going into acute liver failure. I found out that I have ESLD and HE.

No matter what I did or how I felt, the color just wasn’t normal. After months of questions and tests, I was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis.
