I currently take care of my 77 year old mother who has had cirrhosis for over 10 years and has frequent bouts of HE. What complicates matter is the fact that she also has diabetes.

Kendall’s motivation to promote Liver Disease Awareness began when he learned that his mother was infected with Hepatitis C.

I was diagnosed with hepatitis C in 1990, after attempting to donate blood. I went through two rounds of treatment locally, which were unsuccessful.

I received a small white envelope in the mail informing me that my blood donation could not be accepted because I was infected with a virus called hepatitis C.

I found out over 30 years ago that I had hepatitis C after a blood transfusion. Not much was known about “non-a, non-b” hepatitis as it was called at that time.
