Bill silently developed alcohol-associated liver disease over three decades of alcohol use disorder. Most know Bobby Rydell from hit songs like Volare. However, what most don’t know is that in 2012, Bobby underwent a double organ transplant, receiving 75% of a liver and one kidney.

I began to cut the grass on the greens, and enjoyed this greatly, but I just didn’t feel right. I felt very weak, slow and forgetful, certainly not normal. I was diagnosed with liver disease.

This story is about my husband with alcoholic related cirrhosis of the liver. We don’t know when my husband developed the first stage of liver disease.

Two years ago I couldn’t catch my breath. Five days later I went home with a diagnosis of liver cirrhosis. I brought this on myself with drinking too much over a long period of time.
