ALF promotes education, advocacy, support services and research for the prevention, treatment and cure of liver disease. The ALF Upper Midwest Division provides a wide variety of these services including information and referral, education programs, support groups, exciting fundraising events, and an array of volunteer opportunities.

Some liver cancer patients will experience new hope with the possibility of a liver transplant. If the cancer has not spread outside the liver, doctors can remove the liver and replace it with the gift of life—a donor liver. Parul Agarwal, MD, hepatologist at the UW Health Transplant Program, works with patients to determine whether a transplant might be a good option. “Liver transplant offers a very rare chance to be cured of liver cancer,” she says.
