Support groups provide a place for individuals affected by a similar condition or circumstance to provide and receive support and share their experiences. Not all support groups are facilitated by an American Liver Foundation volunteer. Some support groups are facilitated by 3rd party organizations and individuals in this region.

Meets: 3rd Thursday of each month, 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.

This group is a monthly meeting of patients, families, and caregivers at any stage pre- and post-transplant. The group meets for education, emotional support and information exchange related to organ transplant. Meetings are facilitated by the staff psychologist and/or social worker to help provide information on:

  • Learning about the transplant process
  • The personal adjustment experience for patients
  • Coping needs of caregivers
  • Stress-management strategies for patients and their families

The meetings are free, and no registration is required. All families and patients who have/anticipate any type of organ transplant are encouraged to attend.

The group meets on the third Thursday of each month from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
