Today is #WorldHealthDay! This year, World Health Day is a time to celebrate the work of nurses and midwives and remind world leaders of the critical role they play in keeping the world healthy.

Nurses and other health workers are at the forefront of COVID-19 response - providing high quality, respectful treatment and care, leading community dialogue to address fears and questions and, in some instances, collecting data for clinical studies.

Quite simply, without nurses, there would be no response.

From all of us at ALF Greater New York, we would like to thank all of the nurses around the world for everything that they do.

Today officially kicks off our Virtual Liver Life Walk experience! Week 1 will focus on Mindfulness and is sponsored by our friends at Intercept Pharmaceuticals.

Today we are taking a pause to get present and bring ourselves back to our WHY.

Every Virtual Liver Life Walk participant has a reason “why” they registered for our walk. It was for a friend, parent, child, sibling, co-worker, or for themselves, like our National LIVEr Champion, Philip.

For all of us at ALF, now more than ever, our WHY is liver patients, caregivers, and healthcare practitioners across the country.

Now we ask you to share your why with us. Post your reason “why” on social media today and help change the face of liver disease. Tag the people in your post who make the walk experience special for you. Make sure you also tag us at ALF and include #VirtualLiverWalk.

If you haven’t yet registered for our VIRTUAL Liver Life Walk, there’s still time to become a part of the experience. Register today! liverlifewalk.org/longisland, liverlifewalk.org/newyorkcity, or liverlifewalk.org/newjersey
