National Stakeholder Engagement Intern

The American Liver Foundation (ALF) is the nation's leading non-profit organization dedicated to liver health and disease prevention. ALF promotes education, advocacy, support services and research for the prevention, treatment and cure of liver disease.

Position Description

ALF is looking for an intern to work with the National Senior Director of Healthcare Professional Engagement. This position will conduct online research, database management, and project oversight with the goal of expanding ALF’s partnerships with healthcare professionals and clinics across the US.

Upon successful completion of this 12-week internship, the selected intern will receive a $500. stipend paid in a lump sum amount. In addition, selected interns will receive resume building experience, the opportunity to interact with multiple levels of healthcare professionals specializing in liver. The intern may also receive educational credit hours if approved by their academic institution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct online research or phone calls to assist the Stakeholder Engagement Team with the following:

  • accuracy and expansion of current healthcare professional databases
  • medical student programs to identify potential partnership contacts
  • create listings of universities from across the US with hepatology and transplant divisions and identify departmental contacts
  • co-manage online Liver Health Poster Competition working directly with competitors and some internal ALF staff

Position Requirements:

  • Excellent online research skills
  • Accurate and thorough database management
  • self-motivated, reliable, and deadline oriented

Experience/Skills/Knowledge:

  • Experience with excel spreadsheets at an intermediate level
  • ability to conduct all interactions in a professional manner
  • familiarity with zoom and informational sharing programs such as one note
